 RULES FOR 2008

All entries will be accepted up to the start of the qualifying session which takes place on Saturday afternoon, (local time).  All entries will need to have been posted on the message board or RECEIVED in the guess_the_pole@hotmail.com
email account before the start of the qualifying session, so please make sure that you send the email in plenty of time.  All late entries will be declared null and void.

To assist you with the Guess the Pole competition please find below the rules for 2008...

2008 Guess The Pole Rules

1.     Closest guess to the pole time will be declared the winner, whether under or over the actual pole time. You don't have to guess who will get the best pole time, just the time itself.

2.
There are no prizes, just the honour of having your name up in lights on the GTP community.

3.
     Only ONE entry per person

4.
Entries can be mailed to: guess_the_pole@hotmail.com. Entries by posting to the "Guess The Pole" community message board are also accepted.

5.
Please put your time in the subject of the email, in the format - 1:23.456. This makes it much easier to sort through all the entries and find the winner quickly.

6.
Entries must be RECEIVED in the designated email account/on the message board before the start of qualifying on Saturday afternoon (local time). All late entries will be disqualified. Proof of sending is not proof of delivery.

7.     Check the weather forecast on http://www.intellicast.com or http://weather.yahoo.com

8.     Any previous years warm up or qualifying times posted by anyone, either within the notification email or on the message boards, are purely for information only. It is the entrants responsibility to check these are correct. Take a look at http://www.newsonf1.com or http://www.f1-live.com

9. The 'Season's Closest Guess' will run in parallel with the main competition and will be updated after each race. The winner will be the person who has predicted the pole time closest over the whole season, whether this be under or over the actual pole time.

10. Winners will be announced on the GTP Community as soon as possible after qualifying.

11. Non compliance with the above rules will place your entry subject to disqualification.

12. If a race is missed for whatever reason a time is given which is 3 secs + the 5th worst guess time for the race that was missed. Otherwise people entering only a few races will have a combined time lower than people who have entered every race.

13. The decisions of the GTP Community Managers are final.

Good Luck, and enjoy the competition.
