What is SAL?
The Study of Anthropoid Life forms (SAL) studies recent stories about sightings of supposedly human-like life forms in the media and literature.
All around the World there are old folktales about human-like apparitions. These tales are about fish-, bird-, bear, wolf-, and ape-people or other creatures whose physiology are like humans. These stories can be explained with folks belief, symbolism and other psychosocial factors.
Penguins, dolfins, seacows, kangaroos, basilisks, divers ape- and bearspecies, but also humans with a physical or mental hanicap, are seen as the origin of these mythical manbeings.
But for the recent stories, about hairy manbeings and humanoids supposedly comming from unknown flying ships, a sound explanation failed to come in the last fifty years.
These supposedly human-like creatures are known under the popular collective noun humanoids. The scientific name is anthropoids.
The Study of Anthropoid Life forms (SAL) studies the nonhypnotic regression stories about sightings of human-like creatures...

Cryptos Web site for this French cryptozoology magazine.

The Talk.Origins Archive Extremely informative and comprehensive site dedicated to the debate between evolutionists and creationists. This is important to cryptozoology because many creationists take cryptozoological claims as evidence for their own ends (a flawed approach, in my opinion), and many people investigating cryptozoological claims are creationists.
Cryptozoology.Com Page on general cryptozoology, including some research by its webmaster on a Mexican lake monster.

The Bestiary Nice page with info on mythical creatures as well as cryptids.
