| Age of Innocence | Starring: Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Daniel Day-Lewis Synopsis: Two people from two different places in life fall in love. It's all very taboo, but the guy keeps pursuing the girl. The girl throws caution to the wind to be with him, even when she's cast aside by society and family to do so. *SPOILER*: He can't take the heat from society so he ends up marrying the "proper girl" (OUCH) but wants to continue seeing the woman her really loves as a mistress (a-hole). Guess she wasn't worth his effort to marry because society would have been opposed and it'd be hard for him. She shunned society to be with him, he didn't do the same in return. Basic message is this: Break ups suck but, sometimes, no matter how badly you might want to be with someon else, it doesn't mean that they'll try as hard to be with you because they're scared/cowardly/not as in love/not in the right place in life/are too selfish, etc. And after the great love and loss...life goes on. Sad, but true. I cry my eyes out everytime I see this movie.... Suggested by: Holly on 12/23/2004 |
