1 Chat Hosting :

PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION BEFORE CONTINUAL HOSTING - This is to keep all members of the community informed on who is ok'd to host in the chats. You can respond at the message board if interested - heres a direct link to the topic:Volunteer to HOST CHAT.

Please Respect All that come under your POWER in a chat. Give each religion there say in a chat no matter your preference! As a multi-faith community you are a representative of just that Multi faith hosting must go along. You may speak your own mind but also play fair - within the member and hosting rules. Just because you have a hammer or have booted the room doesn't mean it is "yours" please think of it as the communities and you a custodian. Many hosts have a tendency to think of it as "my" gavel since this is a round-table we strongly discourage this ( Note : even the community creator Zen Tiger tries not to think this way )

Keep the "peace" Fighting is to be done with a 'referee'

You have to play ref.! Good ideas for defusing a unruly outbreak are to throw in comments on the silly side. Try to keep a few topic ideas in your head for chat lulls also . If you cant find a topic then check out this AGF help page for just such occasions Chat topic . If violent nature is enacted try to use something to change the mood ( a nerf bat or water balloon?) to a playful aggression. kill 'em with kindness kill 'em with laughter the AGF host's motto whenever possible. Insulting to the point of abuse directed at any one in particular will not be tolerated in the chat room but people should always be warned first before kicking.

Keep the cussing to a minimum give warnings and allow

for sound alike words, edited words and phrases.Try to be fair with this rule. A occasional slip shouldn't be automatically banned. the persistent "ass" in chat that is doing it to get a reaction they should be warned, if it continues then kicked for profanity if they come back and persist - ban -

Allow and promote the use of the ACTION button .

DO NOT TRY TO KEEP ONE TYPE OF FAITH AT THE HOSTING POSITION ONLY Try to keep it varied in faiths whenever possible. also-Do not allow personal reasons to affect your hosting of a candidate, as long as the person is following the rules and has a good history of hosting. ( many of the most heated " rival debaters " can host the chat wonderfully together.)

Learn about the emoticons and how to use them .to find a full list of emoticons just hit "help" on the top of the chat room screen and look for the link labeled "emoticons" it will show you how to do all the icons :)

Don't be mean or rude to newbies that don't understand the system yet!

Posting links in chat - Try not to post the same thing to many times ( 2 times a hour should be ok ) this even includes our community address here at the community

Do not kick "willy nilly" just for the fun of it or just for not agreeing.

What to do if you are the only Host and have to leave: Hopefully there is another volunteer host in the room (if so they should be hosting already unless theres already a few hosts.) If not a approved host look for a community member that has proved they are at least "fair" in debate. IF not you may have to just close down the room.

Cut and PASTE .. this is a great tool for chat rooms! be sure to get in on the act if you haven't done it before.. you'll save hours of typing if you can find your favorite text ( bible, quotes page, dictionary etc.) and simply cut and paste the info into the chat window. Warning though this can be annoying if used excessively.

Shouting members.usually people who are shouting(speaking in all caps) aren't familiar with the normal chat rule of this. By simply telling them about it will 9 out of 10 times fix this. ( note : sometimes people just hit that darn cap lock on accident too.. so be lenient with folks on this one. )
