The posting window:
First off a little information - It seems most of the time ( on most computers so far ) That Netscape is pretty straightforward with little options ( if this is the case with you sorry just type and send is usually the only option available to you ) but if you are on Explorer or a few others that show the full list of message board options then here goes. (you'll know if you have the options by 2 lines of Icons right above the message board window you type into when you try to post or reply.)
First we will explain Attachments - followed by the actual breakdown of the posting window
ATTACHMENTS:
Attachments can be : games
Attachments can be : movies , video clips or single pictures 
Attachments can be : music and audio 
Attachments can be : Texts 
Attachments can be : Pictures
To attach a file to a post just hit the "attachment"/ "attach a file" button located at the top of the posting window (after you've decided to post ~ reply or new post) a window will pop up saying "browse" hit it and locate the file on your hard drive or you can type in what file you want manually.. hit attach.."attach this file". ( some time will be needed for MSN to attach this~ and the time depends on the size of the file ) . then finish with your text post.. when you hit "send" the file and the message text will both be placed onto the message board.If you are posting a attachment or link to a download please add a (D/L) to the title of the post.
to VIEW or DOWNLOAD a file :just hit the icon "paper-clip" or the word attachment at the bottom of the appropriate post. if problems occur try right clicking it and either "open new window" or "save as" and this should work for you.( 'save as' works best imo )
Posting Window:
I will break this down best i can from top to bottom left to right.
Top left :should say
TO : AGFMessageBoard@commun.....
From: (your name/nic)
"subject" and the topic of the message you are creating or responding to.
next line 2
three icons (buttons) from left to right
ICON "attach a file ","attachment": got a file you want to share from your hard-drive? hit the attach a file and browse for the file in your hardrive, pick what you want and then attach .
"attach this file" this will upload the file that is typed in the "browse" window.
" cancel " this will abort the posting of the message and return you to the main message page ( or home page )
ICON LINES
Icon list from left to right - ROW 1
Scissors : this will cut what ever you have highlighted with your cursor and place it into your clipboard. ( to high-lite a area press your left mouse button and hold it while you go over text or pictures in your message when you have the correct area highlighted proceed on )
two sheets of paper : this will copy whatever is highlighted in the message (click to high-lite)
clipboard : place your cursor(pointer) into the message board where you want to paste. hit the left button so the text line appears (the line showing where your next letter or item will be placed - lil blinking line.) then hit the clip board and whatever has been previously cut or copied (last thing) will be placed into the message.
paragraph : this option allows you to format text usually easiest to use after you have finished a post and want to correct it into proper style. just high-lite what you want and then hit paragraph option to format.
Font style : want to change the look of what you are writing with? give it a try several styles to choose from just hit the style and type away in the new font ( if you want to change a already written texts font then : high-lite with left mouse click and dragging the high-lite over what you want changed.. then hit font and choose the font you want.. bingo changed over!)
Font size : want to change the size of your text? heres where to go several choices to choose from.
B : hitting the single B in line 3 will cause a BOLD text to appear. If you want to only emphasize a couple words bold is a good way to go. just click and type. ( high-lite old text to change - use same steps described above)
I : italicize the text
U : Underline the text
Text left: align left : align text to the left
Text center : align text center
Text right : align text right
ROW 2
shortest line of icons : from left to right
1 . 2. 3. : this option allows for a numbered list to be made.. every time you hit enter a new numbered setting will appear ex:

3 boxes w/ lines: this allows for simple bullet posting witout numbers : ex :

graph on side with arrow left : this will indent all the text or pics to the left in a columned fashion
graph on side with arrow right : will indent text and pics to the right.
flat line : this puts a straight line separator across the screen at a desired place.
Earth with a sideways 8 or eternity symbol : this is the link icon.. high-lite text ( left click move cursor over desired text ) then hit icon : choose from the drop-down menu (pages here at this community agf message board ) or type in your desired address - this can be pasted in also.
calender looking graph : this allow a table to be placed into the message. create a set of boxes to write or place pictures within.
Scenic mountain and sun ( yellow ) : this inserts pictures! just make sure you have placed the cursor into the spot you want the picture to go (blinking line for text placement) hit the icon and a list of all the communities you belong to will appear. choose a community and then its photo album list will appear.. choose which photo album.. then which photo ( hit the photo thumbnails(small pic you want) to high-lite the ones you want) and hit the "add" option.. the pics will pop into your message.. you can move them around after you have placed pictures also. NOTE- your pics must be on a community - you cant upload from your hardrive usually. take the time to first post the picture in a photo album and then use it from there.
Icon A : this allow the text color to be changed
smiley head : add chat icons by hitting the smiley head
Send Message : If your happy with the post then hit the send option
Cancel : Mess up? if so just cancel it.
